    Residents at Southdowns are close to Acadian Village Shopping Center which includes my favorite grocery store, Trader Joe's! The shopping center includes other great places such as restaurants, retailers and a bank. It's very convenient for those who appreciate one-stop shop like myself. I can't wait to see how much traffic they will accumulate for us crazed Irish wearing green for the 31st Annual St. Patrick's parade!

    The parade route starts at Hundred Oaks and it will go near the Garden District and end at the intersection of Stanford and Perkins. Don't forget to mark your calendar, this fun and exciting parade will be on March 12, 2016 and will "roll" promptly at 10:00 am. I hope to see you there!

    Acadian Village is a Hit!
    The newly renovated Acadian Village is a hit! The Acadian Village shopping center, with over 70,000 square feet of classy retail space is all the rage! Located right off I10 at the Perkins Rd Acadian Thruway intersection, the Acadian Village houses plenty of places for you to shop, including: Nadeau: Furniture With a Soul, Petco, Pier One, Smarter Eyewear, Baby Bump Maternity, Vertage Clothing, and Edit. After acquiring your new wardrobe (for you or your home!) you may be in need of a new hair style as well! And what better place to go than Air Blow Dry Bar right in the Acadian Village strip? You can pick up you and your pets weekly groceries at Trader Joes and Petco, or pick from your choice of wonderful dinning like Galatoire's, Acme Oyster House, Pei Wei, or the La Divina Italian Cafe. Traffic in the area is main concern especially after 3 p.m., but in the evening you can safely walk or bike to get about. What a great way to meet your neighbors!

    What will it be?? Some are speculating that it may become a seafood market or deli since the buyer's family owns Tony's Seafood! The new owner is not telling yet but one thing is for sure, they bought a great location in a developing area and I'm excited to see what the new addition will be!
