If you're anything like me, you appreciate an older bowling alley that has been well kept, like Bowlero in Kenner. There is something about an all-you-can-bowl Tuesday Night where pins are flying, the vibes are high, and you're talking smack to your fellow bowlers. Booking has never been an issue as the alley has nearly 50 lanes. I strongly recommend passing the time at this spot!
  • Kenner, the city where I spent a good part of my childhood, is just about 14 miles west of New Orleans and has so much to offer. The history of Kenner begins around 1718 -- The French found New Orleans and marked "Cannes Brulee" on maps upriver in the area known today as the City of Kenner. I have witnessed an amazing, beautiful transformation of this tight community. A city where everyone knows their neighbors, and friends are family. Front porches and sidewalks are for sitting out and talking because you know someone who is related to someone else you know. If you need something...your neighbor has it and gladly offers. Backyards full of parties all year round. Where the rules are not so strict, but the residents expect manners. My children have very fond memories of growing up in Kenner, and often say that they only wish that they could raise their children in such a neighborhood. I am still very connected to many of the people that I grew up with over 40 years ago. We all raised our children together as well. A city where parents coach their children on the same fields that they played on as children themselves. Where everyone's mother is...everyone else's mother too.

Kenner offers very affordable housing away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet just a short drive to all of the festivals, nightlife, restaurants, and events that the Big Easy has to offer. Kenner has its own independent infrastructure with major hospitals, parks, (that include water, dog parks, pavilions, and sports) shopping, a plethora of restaurants with authentic New Orleans cuisine that in many cases surpasses what you may find in New Orleans, and many local, unique businesses that cater to the city.

Find everything from starter homes to upscale homes for a fraction of the cost of what you find in nearby cities. Many homes offer very large backyards, unlike some areas where real estate is so tightly put together. Offering housing near Lake Pontchartrain or the Mississippi. The city of Kenner continues to improve and update. With all these incredible reasons to live in Kenner, I have to say that the city's greatest asset is its people!
  • The New Orleans Airport is located in the city of Kenner, just 11 miles west of downtown New Orleans. The airport originally was called Moisant Field, after the aviation pioneer John Bevins Mosiant. The airport code for the airport is MSY (Moisant Stock Yards). In 2001, the airport was renamed The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. This was in honor of the native born musician, Louis Armstrong.

This is a great eatery with local crawfish boiled and seasoned, usually featuring corn, potatoes and sausage. We always have crawfish boils. But, I like picking them up on my way home from one of our Louisiana owned grocery stores.
