One of Ponchatoula's newest restaurants located on a corner lot off the main street. The food they served was comfort food. Reminded me of a pot luck after a Sunday service at your grandma's country church. Maybe some of the selections available weren't your favorite, but who cares? There are so many choices here that there's something for everyone.

When I moved to Ponchatoula in 1986, much of the area was still undeveloped. In fact, while looking for our next home, my family and I stumbled upon one of the old buildings for the sawmill near Fire Tower Rd. There were still papers and debris scattered everywhere on the ground and I remember, so vividly, the way the area looked and even smelled. While exploring, we found an old shotgun house, in all it's glory, for sale. I can recall my mother declaring sight unseen that this was to be our new home. Her feet had taken root in Ponchatoula. The colors in the house were wildly tacky being mostly olive and rust orange and the layout was nothing we had ever seen before. Who had ever heard of walking through the bedroom to get to the kitchen!? Our home had only one heater and it was located in the floor in a central location. Most of my childhood winters were spent standing over that heater. Eventually, the town grew and the crumbling sawmill remains of Ponchatoula's past disappeared. But the memories made, the love shared and the experiences learned in Millville are by far my fondest.
